Our Story

About the Owner

Jackson Vettrus, the man behind the name, and owner/operator of Action Jackson Excavation, grew up around heavy equipment and construction work. He began operating logging and construction equipment while still in middle school working in the family business, developing strong machine operating skills from an early age.

After high school, Jackson continued working in the logging industry where he further refined his equipment operating abilities. He later spent several years working in carpentry, gaining valuable experience in building and construction that extends beyond excavation and groundwork. This background gives him a well-rounded understanding of how projects come together from the ground up.

Jackson has always been known as a hardworking and dependable operator, focused on doing the job right and taking pride in quality work.

Strong Industry Roots

Action Jackson Excavation works closely with Vettrus Trucking LLC, a company with shared ownership and deep family ties in the trucking industry. Vettrus Trucking provides extensive dump truck and heavy hauling capabilities, allowing the two companies to work seamlessly together on projects that require excavation, hauling, and material transport.

The trucking side of the business has generational roots dating back to 1949, bringing decades of industry experience and capability to support excavation and construction projects.

How the Business Started

Before starting his excavation company, Jackson worked as the head maintenance worker at a local RV park, where he continued developing hands-on problem-solving skills and saving toward his goal of owning equipment.

Seven years ago, he purchased his first machine and started Action Jackson Excavation. Aside from a single Facebook Marketplace ad when the business first began, nearly all of the company’s work has come through word-of-mouth referrals and repeat customers — something that speaks to the quality of work and trust built with clients over time.
